Post Chapter 969 C'est qui SEMIMARU KUROZUMI?

Morning Y'all
Damn time flies fast, and just a like a cicada it's too short.
I've been very busy in real life... but here I am, once more, to deliver you Bink's Sake.

This is a segment I will post in French that concerns news about One Piece/Oda not found in the manga. You shall also see the English version. Credits will be given.

Traduction

One Piece Chapter 909 Review, Predictions for Chapter 910

Zorro doing Zorro-like things

Highlights of Chapter 909 as we finally enter Wano!

Nekomamushi meets Marco
I have been waiting for so long to see Marco once again. At my surprise, as with Garp, he is in good spirits. And who knew Marco was a doctor? I do think he is more of a physician than an actual doctor like Chopper and Law. The pair of glasses really look nice on him.
One thing I got right is that he is not far from Whitebeard's and Ace's graves. Probably the same village as a matter of fact. He has sworn to protect the last keepsake that Newgate calls home.
He said he couldn't leave and join Luffy's crusade while Whitebeard's true son Weevil is looking for him. Soon or later, they will cross paths. However, I get the feeling that Marco will indeed join them when things are most dire.
If I may add, we saw Marco using his flames to heal injuries. This is likely due to Awakening. Since Marco was always able to rise from the ashes by immediately recovering from his injuries; his awakening allows him to affect his surroundings, in this case to heal people to a certain degree.

Bakkin
New information that Bakkin and Whitebeard were once on the same ship. No need to jump here because apart from Luffy, Doflimengo, and few exceptions, most big shot pirates were previously crew members on pirate ships before becoming their own captains.
Remember Shanks on Gol D Roger's ship? We recently understood that Big Mom and Kaidou shared some time on a ship.
What we do need to know is who was their captain, and did they wipe the floor with the captain of Big Mom and Kaidou? Is he or she related to the dormant legend?

WANO
Wano is here! After making through various empires of planet earth (i.e. Dressrosa/Spain, Jaya Skypea/Ancient South American Nations (mayan, aztec, etc.), Alabasta/Egypt....), Oda sensei  is bringing us home. If you didn't get it yet, Wano is Japan, or more specifically Feudal Japan during the age of ninjas, samurais, and shoguns.
When I was kid, my dream was to become a samurai during those times. Unlucky me, I was born right in between the Sahara desert and the tropical jungles. Can't really complain, can I?

Our crew successfully blended in the crowds. Franky is doing what he was born to do, carpentry. Robyn wanna be a Geisha, those deadly femme fatales in ancient Japan. Ussop is doing what he was meant to be, the greatest Salesman/liar who is actually successful. And as for my man Zoro:
He did what Zoro is supposed to do, cut down and ask questions later. There was no way the infiltration team could have waited quietly until Luffy's team arrives. I just thought that the government official who was slashed by Zorro would have been Kaido himself.

Trivias
Once again, Oda did a trivia about Marco. As I said couple weeks ago, this reaffirms my assumption that Oda is wrapping up the series. A trivia serves as a quick reminder of what transpired during these last 20 years! So let us hang tight for the next last years before the E N D.

Predictions for Chapter 910

I bet we will see more of Wano, and the consequences of Zoro's actions which will undoubtedly reach Kaido's ears. Thus, the next chapter will be quite mouvemente and have more Zoro moments, which is great.

Chapter 908 Review, Predictions for 909

The Gorosei kneel before Im
As I predicted in my last review of chapter 907, the Gorosei is NOT the highest authority in the world, and the shadow figure (named Im) is the one pulling the strings and sits on the empty throne!!!
 What else we learned?

The biggest princess meets the smallest princess
You know you have been around the world when your connections meet each other in your absence. Shirahoshi met her dwarf counterpart Manshelly.

The Reverie kicks off
With all 50 representatives present, the real G20 starts. Luckily, King Cobra was able to stir the conversation away about Luffy. Which makes me think they won't mention him during the real discussion.

Bartholomew Kuma
New information about Kuma surfaced! He was the former King of Sorbet Kingdom. This was not that surprising because it can explain the reason he joined the Revolutionary Army and opposed the World Government. What intrigued me however was his status of Shichibukai. This begs the questions:

One Piece Chapter 905 906 907 Reviews, 908 Predictions

Chapter 905

GARP
I have to admit that I was surprisingly happy to see Garp all joyous. I was very upset at him letting Ace die during the war of the summit. How could he? How in the hell is your job more important than family?
He is truly Luffy's grand father, a man who doesn't give a cent about protocols and has zero complex in dealing with royalty.
Today, I understand why he categorically refused promotion to become an admiral in the past. The higher you go past being a vice-admiral  in the hierarchy, you command more power and men, but your hands become tied to the Celestial Dragons. So knowing that, Garp knew this was the best position for him to do whatever he wanted to do, but also avoid being controlled by the Tennryubuto. How could he stomach a Buster Call? You need to be blinded by absolute justice to do that.
Although being a vice admiral, he HAD the moral obligation to be present at the war. It saddened him, but that  was his duty. Which also brings me to say that Garp ordered young Ace and Luffy to become marines because that would have been the only way to save them from the World Government when they grow older. So I really have to give Garp my respect once again.
I will come back to him further below.

ADMIRAL GREENBULL RYOKUGYUU
We knew the name, but now we know the silhouette and more about his personality. The last admiral is a

One Piece Chapter 904 Review 905 Predictions

Voila the top commanders of the Revolutionary Army!

North Army is commanded by Karasu who made a cameo at the end of the Dressrosa Arc when he summoned crows to pick Sabo up.

South Army is commanded by Lindbergh, possibly a mink

East Army is commanded by Belo Betty, the flag bearer of the Army. I think Oda was heavily inspired by Marianne, the lady who is supposed to represent liberty and France herself.

West Army is commanded by Morley, a giant okama, whose silhouette was featured on the epic moment Doflimengo asks WHO RULES THE SEA! His appearance was a let down for me though.

A Chapter 100% Revolutionary Army

We also saw Dragon who is about to make a declaration of war on the celestial dragons!
Sabo the Chief of Staff
Ivankov and her/his minions

Koala

Peace til next chap which will probably focus on the reverie participants.

DRAGON AND SABO WILL DECLARE WAR AGAINST THE CELESTIAL DRAGONS

One Piece Chapter 899 Review Chapter 900 Predictions

Aladin and co save Jinbei and Luffy
Still on their escape, my man Aladin came to help our heroes right before they got done in by Smoothie and her fellow mates. This reminds me of when Roger was saved by a freak storm when fighting Shiki the Lion (remember Strong World?)

One Piece Chapter 898 Review Predictions for Chapter 899

Sanji and Luffy Rejoins The SUNNY

Still in their escape, but this time we got to see the four Germa 66 siblings display some of their powers, and it was cool! The Big Mom Pirates are still in shock and denial over the defeat of Katakuri....Luffy is quite something isn't he? are we going to see a new wanted poster for our straw hat wearing hero?

One Piece Chapter 897 Review Chapter 898 Predictions

Like I said countless times before, I knew Germa 66 would save them right after Sanji escapes with Luffy!

Nothing new really transpired, so I will keep this short with an extra colored snap! I wish I had seen more of Pekoms' transformation though. I guess that will be for chapter 898.

One Piece Chapter 896 Review 897 Predictions

Katakuri is defeated

I loved Luffy's fight with Katakuri so much that I will need to revisit it. Though they were a perfect match up against each other, just like Luffy and Lucci, this time Luffy was able to stand up on his own after the rumble. The best part was Katakuri's animal reflex to stand up before Luffy could see him hugging the ground. Even better are these theories for the next chapter and chapters far far into the future:

  1. Katakuri enjoyed fighting Luffy so much that he can't wait for ROUND 2 (I talked about this many times before). To meet a worthy opponent for the first time who actually evolved in the fight only to lose sight of them forever would have been too much of an heartbreak to handle. It seemed like he needed to

One Piece 895 Review Chapter 896 Predictions

Hello world
Chapter 895 came out in a form of a snake, but the battle is still heating up thanks to Luffy showcasing his Gear 4.5 Snake Man.

LUFFY
I wasn't blown away with Snake Man as much as Bounce Man, but this one packs a fast punch. The increasing speed on top of the stretch is what really makes it powerful. It's really like a laser beam. Focus, speed, and unpredictability is what makes Luffy Luffy.
The names of his attacks are so funny: Black Mamba (Kill Bill anyone?) and what we hope to see next week: King Cobra! Perhaps there will be a Viper or Anaconda creeping around.

KATAKURI
There was this one shot where Dogtooth truly resembled an hungry blooded eye snow wolf (300). What's still funny though is him still not getting Luffy's yonko class clumsiness. Who else can speak about hunger when sweeping the floor with Dogtooth (and Cracker by the way).

One Piece Chapter 894 Review Chapter 895 Predictions

Get ready for the new Gear 4 SNAKE MAN

Get ready for GEAR 4 v2.0, or as I like to call : Gear 4.5. I have no freaking clue as to what it's going to look like, so I'm not even gonna bother myself to speculate too much on it. I was satisfied with this chapter, so let's wait 6 more days to find out. We can guess based on the name (snake, serpent, etc...), but one thing is for sure: Katakuri saw what's coming!
Both adversaries confirmed this is the last stretch, they can barely stand up at this point. Even Dogtooth is having trouble standing straight. Behind my man Zoro, I think Luffy has the most stamina and tenacity among the rookies.
Questions for next chap are:

One Piece Chapter 893 Review 894 Predictions

Katakuri acknowledges Luffy as equal
One sentence: I loved this chapter. Now both Luffy and Dogtooth will enter the last phase of their battle with nothing on the line but their honor and their love to conquer the challenger. For once the entire chapter was dedicated to this keep-on-getting-better fight.
Three things we now know:

One Piece Chapter 892 Review Chapter 893 Predictions

Smoothie  x Cinnamon  x Citron

As expected, Sanji made it in time. Destruction was avoided thanks to Bege luring Big Mom away, but no one is safe yet.
Luffy got knocked the hell out once again because he IS AT HIS LIMIT, but this is necessary for him so that he could surpass himself. So chill and relax, Luffy will get back up and continue the fight for the next hour or so.
So the next chapters will be like this: EVERYONE is headin to Cacao's Island for one last huge royal battle between the Straw Hats assisted by Germa 66 VERSUS the Sweet Pirates (Oven, Smoothie, Cinnamon, Citron, etc.) while Luffy will conclude his fight with Katakuri.
By the time Big Mom gets back from

One Piece Chapter 890 Review 891 Predictions

Jinbei clashes with Big MOM

I loved this chapter. Told you that Brook or Nami will surprise us once more, but oops I forgot about my man Jinbei the first son of the sea. He was able to send off Big Mom with his attack (though she sent him flying too), how bad ass was that???
As I mentioned before, this whole arc was made for Nami and Brook to shine. Their combined powers truly are a stick in the wheels for Big Mom.

Next chapter, Big Mom intends to

One Piece Chapter 889 Unknown MAMA

Super Big Mom in 889

We saw Big Mom use both Zeus and Promotheus to launch powerful attacks, but this time she fuses with the latter to enter a never-seen-before battle mode.
The new mama is slimmer (due to hunger), thus much more agile...and crazier. I think Sanji and co. will arrive in the nick of the time to save Nami's team in two chapters time. Though in a dire situation, I don't see anyone kicking the bucket this time.
In the next chapter, we'll get a glimpse of Big Mom's new powers and something is telling me Nami (and Brook) will surprise us again!

Chapter 887 888 Review

Love it when I'm right (read about the Minks true power)

For the past two chapters, we became aware of three things:
- Bege ain't that bad after all
- Select Minks can become SSJ3 under the full moon
- Luffy will surpass himself

That's really it. Carrot what a beauty!

Chapter 886 Review and Chapter 887 Predictions

Yo

Carot's talk was a reminder to some, but told you a looooong time ago!
You're about to wake up and smell the MINKS' true power under the full moon.

Oda-sensei keeps on unveilling more and more about the world of One Piece we didn't know about. First, back in Dressrosa he showed us the next level of mastering a DF called "Awakening". Secondly, he's telling you and me that most of the bad asses have already awakened their powers. Which brings us to the assumption that in order for Luffy to defeat Dogtooth aka Katakuri, Luffy will have to either:

One Piece Chapter 830 Review: Luffy and Jinbei

Jinbei declares his ambition to join Luffy and the Straw Hats
Hello fellow grand-line pirates! Since I'm quite busy on some travel preparations, bear with me if the next two reviews come late.
So One Piece 830 came out and it was great. Here is a super quick review (theories) for the chapter:

New Video Reviews - Revisited

Thanks to the never ending bullying from copyright holders, my previous videos were taken down. I guess couple of pictures from different chapters are enough to warrant 3 strikes from Shueisha and whatnot! Although I included very few limited snapshots of each chapter, the concept of fair use doesn't mean quack to them.
Anyway, I will still be doing videos, but I will avoid using any picture of the manga. Otherwise, these trolls a.k.a copyright infringements bots will continue to make a hell out of my free time.

First revisited video from One Piece Chapter 829. I will later revisit the previous videos since I think they were quite funny.

One Piece Chapter 829 Review: The Yonkou, Charlotte Linlin The Pirate Big Mom

One Piece Chapter 829 Big Mom
As I stated in the review of the last chapter, King Kong ain't got sh*t on Big Mom! I think the only two highlights were Big Mom showcasing her powers, and Boss Jinbei finally appearing.  So here is a very short review of this chapter:

One Piece Chapter 828 Review: 1 and 2

Sanji's older brothers
Good news and bad news. The good news is that chapter 828 came out. The bad news is One Piece will be on break for one week. GIFs of Yonko Kaido - One Piece Episode 739

The ugliest One Piece episode -554
I stopped watching [with interest] the One Piece anime ever since the Fishmen Island arc. The ugly animation just turned me off, it was disrespectful to say the least. Although even Dragon Ball Z had some ugly animated episodes, those can be tolerated because of its age. But from time to time, because anime left a deep footprint in my life, I like to tune in and see how epic moments from the mangas are portrayed in animation.

Episode 739 marked the entrance of Yonko Kaido. Though I expected great animation from start to finish, the first half of the episode left me disappointed. But the last scene when Kaido appeared was well done. I think they used the same animation style which was used throughout most of the War of The Summit arc.  I really miss the early One Piece animation techniques, it was simply unique, simple, and beautiful in its own way.
Enough of my complaints, here are two Gifs images of when Kaidou appeared!

One Piece Chapter 825 Review: Family Affair

Germa 66 Appears
Pfff, finally free after spending two nights working on an application...
One Piece Chapter 825 came out earlier than usual thanks to last week's Golden Week in Japan. Anyway, anyhow, let me offer some quick thoughts on this relatively short chapter:

One Piece Chapter 824 Review: Little Pirate Games

Son of a criminal

Wave after wave, each new chapter brings with it epic-tsunamy-like revelations. That's why we love One Piece. Chapter 824 showed us the tip of the iceberg known as the Yonko's power. Lot of things happened and were hinted, so let's get started with the review:

One Piece Chapter 823 Quick Review: Reverie and Baltigo

823: Start of the Reverie
Yo!

We know for sure Vivi and co. are heading to the reverie.  This year's reverie will allow Vivi, Rebecca, and Shirahoshi to all meet for the first time. It seems the future now rests on the shoulders of princesses!

They will most likely create their own princess band as an offshoot to the SH. Hopefully ODA will keep an eye on any development that happen with them.

Chapter 822 Review: Team Sanji and Vivi

Chapter 822 was like that savory and familiar meal which leaves one in a satisfied mood. It stresses once again Luffy's contagious carefree ways and his crew's total trust in him.

No major actions occured in the chapter, but here were the main highlights:

One Piece Chapter 821 Review: ZOU, Scracthmen Apoo

821: The last shadow of death. Zou takes out Jack
Holy Moly, there I was hoping to see a showdown between the SW and Jack. Little did I know, Zou was the act of God, as in that famous line from Pacific Rim: "There are things you can't fight, acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way..." But Jack didn't heed to that thought from the wise man. Zou, powerful and large as the hurricane, was the last shadow  Jack witnessed. Under the command of Monosuke, it took out with a single swing of his trunk Jack's entire fleet! That, my dear One Piece fans, is true power.
Jack Got K.O.ed

Here are the other main points from the chapter:

Who Are The Members Of The Vinsmoke Family? Identities Revealed!?

I think I just figured out at least one of the Vinsmoke family members!

Fight Against Big Mom: Who Will Join/Help Luffy Rescue Sanji

Since Luffy decided to go rescue Sanji out of his current predicament, we can expect that at least three mini arcs will happen before the real showdown against Yonko Kaidou:
1) Luffy will face-off Big Mom (more like a animated meeting) and the Vinesmoke family
2) Some of the Straw Hats will be fighting Jack before heading to Wano (See chapter 822)
3) Master Nekomamushi will go recruit Marco, possibly running into Edward Weeble a.k.a. Whitebeard Jr.
4) .....reserved

This post is really about the first point raised above. I think we're in for a big surprise. Let's get started then:

Chapter 820 Review - Marco The Phoenix

Wow there really was an overload of important clues and information disclosed by Oda sensei in chapter 820. Not that we dislike it; on the contrary, we love it! I believe the most important piece we got from this chapter is the clash between Marco The Phoenix and the The Black Beard Pirates which resulted in: 1) the defeat of Marco, and 2) Marshall D Teach being labeled as a Yonko. That's something I definitely wanna hear more about just like the clash between Aokiji and Akainu that also resulted in the defeat of Aokiji and his defection to the Black pirates.

Let's get down with the review of the chapter!

The Minks' Secret Trump Card - The Dragon Ball Z Link

Duke Inuarashi on the Minks' trump card
Hmm, last night something just jumped at me while re-reading last week's chapter 819. I think I might have figured out the minks' trump card!

Post Chapter 819: Who's Going To Defeat Jack The Drought?

Yonko Kaidou certainly has a crazy strong entourage. His right hand man Jack The Drought, a 1 Billion Berry bounty man, one of Three Calamities, was able to withstand five continuous days of battle against Duke Inuarashi and Master Nekomamushi. Although he used a underhanded trick with Caesar's gas, something worthy of a coward, his destructive power is nothing to be sneezed at.

Let's run down our usual suspect list!

Who Injured Yonko Hundred-Beast Kaidou?

I couldn't hold onto my chair when Oda [sensei] revealed to us the last Yonko, Hundred-Beast Kaidou. After a minor disappointment with Big Mam--although I did expect a super sized being--Kaidou was just what is expected of the top of the crème, one of the Yonko. A beast whose aura gives away sheer power.

Now, the reason for this short post is to figure out what happened or who caused the injury on Kaidou's stomach.

 You see it?

Who could have possibly inflicted such an injury on the body of the Strongest Living Creature?

Well here are my usual suspects:

Monday, March 7, 2016

Why Shanks Doesn't Want To Become Pirate King

Shanks, a Yonko Unlike Any
The internet is buzzing all around with emotional speculations that Luffy will one day cross hair with Shanks right before becoming the next KOP. This might as well be true since the hero himself proclaimed his plan to wipe the floor with all four of them!

That will be wonderful, but I personally have no interest in such a fight. I already see the possible conclusion(s)  if it were to occur:
  1. Luffy beats him and hands back his straw hat. Shanks will say you deserve this, you are now the KOP. Have it back. Fate will have it that someone, a new kid, will inherit the hat!
  2. Shanks beats the living s**t out of Luffy. But everyone is happy and no hard feelings. Luffy learns the lesson: I still have a long way to go. Story continues, but Luffy will ultimately become Pirate King.
Nothing really exciting as you see.
Now let's get to the reason why Shanks is not interested in the iron seat!

Location of the Fourth Road Poneglyph: The World Government vs. Shanks vs. Dragon

Yo! My mind is going into trance right now. All sort of theories are just jumping inside. Before understanding one, another theory shines in the dark corner of my brain. Let's see if my fingers can catch up with the spree. The following contains major spoilers following One Piece Chapter 818 Inside The Whale, read at your own risk.
Now that sensei [Oda] decided to give more insight about the four red [road] ponyglyphs, I just wanted to explore the potential places where it is located. Let's get started:

Why Portgas D. Ace Had To Die

This is a question that should've been asked a while ago, but since I closed out my blog on a whim and figured the above question is still relevant today, it's never too late. Let's get into then.

One of the saddest moment in the history of manga was unequivocally the death of Portgas D. Ace. I haven't shed a tear ever since I read One Piece, Volume 59, Chapter 574  (and watching that part in the anime :-p). Well, I have been going through and through to understand why sensei [Eiichiro Oda] decided to kill off the character who stole the show ever since he first appeared during the Alabasta arc. And now that we've all witnessed with great pleasure Sabo's return, and seen how powerful the pirates sailing in the New World are, I came down to two major reasons why Ace had to die:
