Why Shanks Doesn't Want To Become Pirate King

Shanks, a Yonko Unlike Any

The internet is buzzing all around with emotional speculations that Luffy will one day cross hair with Shanks right before becoming the next KOP. This might as well be true since the hero himself proclaimed his plan to wipe the floor with all four of them!

That will be wonderful, but I personally have no interest in such a fight. I already see the possible conclusion(s)  if it were to occur:

1. Luffy beats him and hands back his straw hat. Shanks will say you deserve this, you are now the KOP. Have it back. Fate will have it that someone, a new kid, will inherit the hat!
2. Shanks beats the living s**t out of Luffy. But everyone is happy and no hard feelings. Luffy learns the lesson: I still have a long way to go. Story continues, but Luffy will ultimately become Pirate King.

 Nothing really exciting as you see.

 Now let's get to the reason why Shanks is not interested in the iron seat!

Shanks Has Already Seen Raftel and One Piece

First of all, let me point this out: Shanks is NOT aiming to become the next king of pirates (KOP). Why? Simple, because he has already reached Raftel and possibly saw One Piece while he and Buggy The Clown were aboard the Oro Jackson ship of the last King of Pirates, Gol D. Roger. I feel in many ways that Shanks is very much like the late Yonko Whitebeard, they have no interest in becoming the KOP

Talking about good and evil, each organization in the world of One Piece contains this dichotomy. Whether the organization itself is good or evil, it has members who fall into those two categories. To illustrate, let's look at the Yonko. It recently used to be split into 2 good Yonkos (Whitebeard and Shanks)  and 2 bad Yonkos (Big Mama and Kaidou). With the demise of Whitebeard, we know have 1 good Yonko (Shanks) and 3 very bad Yonko (BlackBeard, Big Mama, and Kaidou). Although Big Mama tilts towards the neutral side as long as she gets her sweets!

 

Additionally, the WG seems to already know that. Recall when the Gorosei stated Shanks doesn't have

the ambition to overturn the world for himself?

What's more scary and intriguing is if Buggy knows about One Piece. I wonder if that along with his royal charisma was the reason The World Government appointed him as a Shichibukai.

What I would like to find out in the future is why Gol D. Roger gave his hat to Shanks! Can't wait to see that.
