One Piece Chapter 821 Review: ZOU, Scracthmen Apoo

821: The last shadow of death. Zou takes out Jack
Holy Moly, there I was hoping to see a showdown between the SW and Jack. Little did I know, Zou was the act of God, as in that famous line from Pacific Rim: "There are things you can't fight, acts of God. You see a hurricane coming, you have to get out of the way..." But Jack didn't heed to that thought from the wise man. Zou, powerful and large as the hurricane, was the last shadow  Jack witnessed. Under the command of Monosuke, it took out with a single swing of his trunk Jack's entire fleet! That, my dear One Piece fans, is true power.
Jack Got K.O.ed

Here are the other main points from the chapter:

Luffy & Monosuke vs. Gol D Roger & Lord Eden

We now have the confirmation, although long presumed, that Luffy can indeed hear the voice of all things as well. Though it seems, his new power is not yet strong to command large entities such as Zou or seat kings. He can nonetheless hear them.

Scratchmen Apoo under Yonko Kaidou
Apoo's den-den mushi
There is no doubt that this den-den mushi belongs to Scratchmen Apoo and that's definitely his eyes and teeth. The question is:
  • Was Apoo one of Kaidou's subordinate all along?
  • Did he become one right after he along with Eustass Kidd and Basil Hawkins faced Kaidou back in chapter 795
  • Is Kaidou recruiting rookies for the next big battle to come?

Oh by the way, since Luffy is off to rescue Sanji, this mini arc seems to have come to an end. Let's also see if they will divulge to us how Jack was able to track down Zou.
